Advanced Placement (AP)

This site is dedicated to information on Ohio's Articulation and Transfer Policy. Beginning in 2009, students in Ohio who take a College Board Advanced Placement examination and score at least a '3' are guaranteed college credit, usually towards their general education curriculum, upon entering an Ohio Public Institution of Higher Education. This site provides information on the Advanced Placement Examinations available, the exact credit awarded at each of Ohio’s Public Institutions of Higher Education, as well as policies and guidelines.
For background information about the AP initiative, visit the following pages:
In order to best align the credit awarded for these tests across the state, the Ohio Department of Higher Education has created a set of recommendations for institutions to follow when granting credit for AP examinations.
